Who we are

New York Tour Guides (newyorktourguides.com) is operated by Luteic [registered name, company number and address]. Luteic is the data controller for personal data processed through this site. Contact: privacy@newyorktourguides.com.

What we collect

Visitors: when you send an inquiry, we collect your name, email address, optional phone or WhatsApp number, preferred date and time, group size, and anything you write in your message. We also record which page led you to the guide, the referring website, campaign tags in the link you followed, and the filters you used, so we can understand what helps visitors find tours.

Guides and tour companies: account details, profile and tour content, photos, contact details, and NYC license numbers.

Everyone: basic technical data needed to run and protect the site. We store IP addresses only in hashed (irreversible) form, for spam and abuse prevention. We use privacy-friendly analytics that do not use cookies or identify you.

How we use it

To send your inquiry to the guide you chose, and a copy to you. To ask you, once or twice afterwards, whether the guide replied and whether you booked, which helps us keep the directory reliable. To review listings, prevent spam and abuse, and comply with the law.

Legal bases (for visitors in the EU/UK): taking steps at your request (sending your inquiry), our legitimate interests (keeping the service reliable and safe), and legal obligations.

Who we share it with

Your inquiry details go only to the guide or company you chose. Guides use them to reply to you and arrange your tour, and are required to keep them secure.

We use service providers to run the site: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database and file storage), Resend (email), and Cloudflare (spam protection). They process data on our behalf under contract. Some are located in the United States; transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards [to be confirmed].

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Inquiry details are kept for up to 24 months and then anonymized, keeping only statistics. Guide accounts are kept while active, then deleted or anonymized. [Retention periods to be confirmed.]

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict processing, and complain to a data protection authority (in Ireland, the Data Protection Commission). California residents have similar rights under the CCPA. Email privacy@newyorktourguides.com and we will respond within one month.

We will post any changes here and, if significant, let affected users know.
